Brandon Ingram and Scottie Barnes each scored 23 points as the Toronto Raptors held off a late push from the Cleveland Cavaliers to win 93-89 in Game 4 of their first-round playoff series on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The victory evened the best-of-seven series at 2-2. Game 5 is set for Wednesday in Cleveland, with Game 6 returning to Toronto\u2019s Scotiabank Arena on Friday.<\/p>\n
Barnes also contributed nine rebounds and six assists despite Toronto\u2019s struggles from the field. The Raptors shot just 32 percent overall, making 31 of 97 attempts, and were only 4 of 30 on three-pointers. Ingram grabbed six rebounds and accounted for three of Toronto\u2019s four made threes.<\/p>\n
Mississauga native R.J. Barrett added 18 points and eight rebounds for the Raptors, while rookie center Collin Murray-Boyles came off the bench to post a double-double with 15 points and 10 boards.<\/p>\n
Donovan Mitchell led the Cavaliers with 20 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter, spearheading Cleveland\u2019s late rally. He also had six rebounds and matched Toronto\u2019s entire team total with four three-pointers. James Harden added 19 points and handed out 18 assists for the Cavs.<\/p>\n
After an efficient shooting display propelled Toronto to a 126-104 win in Thursday\u2019s Game 3, the Raptors struggled to find their rhythm early on Sunday. They shot just 26.9 percent in the first quarter and missed all 11 three-point attempts, falling behind 17-14.<\/p>\n
Barrett finally knocked down Toronto\u2019s first three 3:29 into the second quarter, improving the team\u2019s mark beyond the arc to one-for-15. Ingram sank a three-pointer at the buzzer in the second quarter, giving Toronto a 38-36 lead at halftime after outscoring the Cavaliers 24-19 in the quarter.<\/p>\n
A late 9-2 run in the third quarter put the Raptors ahead 60-58, even though they failed to make any three-pointers in the period. At that point, Toronto was just 3 of 27 from deep.<\/p>\n
With 6:57 remaining, Mitchell drained his third three-pointer to tie the game at 74-74. The Cavs then went on a 13-2 run, with Mitchell scoring 10 of those points. <\/p>\n
Ingram electrified the crowd with his third three-pointer of the game, cutting Cleveland\u2019s lead to two with 2:36 left. But Sam Merrill responded with a three for the Cavs, pushing the lead back to five.<\/p>\n
Following a foul from Harden on Ingram beyond the arc, the Raptors star made two of three free throws. Barrett then converted a close-range field goal to bring the Raptors within one, 87-86, with under a minute remaining.<\/p>\n
Barnes was fouled next and made both free throws to give Toronto an 88-87 lead with 34.6 seconds left. Mitchell\u2019s attempted layup shortly after missed, and Ingram secured the rebound to burn valuable time.<\/p>\n
As Cleveland fouled to regain possession, Barnes sank two free throws, Barrett added one, Merrill hit a late field goal, and Barnes closed the scoring with two more free throws, sealing the Raptors\u2019 win.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
