CF Montreal has dismissed head coach Marco Donadel after just six months in charge, the club announced in a statement on Sunday morning.
Philippe Eullaffroy will step in as interim head coach until a permanent replacement is found. Assistant coaches Jacopo Falanga and Lorenzo Pinzauti have also left the organization.
The decision follows a rough start to the MLS season, with Montreal losing its first home game on Saturday to the league’s bottom team, the Philadelphia Union.
CF Montreal has managed only one win in its first seven matches and currently sits second to last in the standings.
Donadel was officially appointed permanent head coach in October 2025, after serving as interim boss since March of that year. He took over from Laurent Courtois, who was fired following an 0-4-1 start during which the team scored just two goals and conceded nine.
In June 2025, the club issued an open letter to fans acknowledging the poor performance and promising a new chapter built on ambition and pride.
Originally from Conegliano, Italy, Donadel joined CF Montreal as an assistant coach on December 29, 2024. He previously played for the team as a midfielder from 2015 to 2018.
Fans remain hopeful for a turnaround after a tough start marked by a long road trip and disappointing home losses.
